Your Bio

I've enjoyed photography for more than twenty-five years. My wife Ardys and I live in Port Orchard, Washington. Our town is situated in scenic Kitsap County between the snow-capped Cascades and the Olympic mountain range. We love wilderness camping and hiking throughout the year with our dog, Brandy.

The Pacific Northwest is a richly diverse wilderness area, ranging from rugged snow covered mountains and valleys, to evergreen forests with glacier-fed rivers and streams.

but by the moments that take our breath away."- anonymous

Some are quite different from one another, and require a different mindset and approach. The portrait of my wife Ardys and the Orchids were planned. Some were pure luck, (Field of Dreams) (Early Morning Bite) (November Sunrise.) Others were just being prepared at the right place and the right time. ~Randy~

"Out Of The Forest At Last There Stood The Mountain, Wholly Unveiled, Awful In Build And Majesty, Filling All The View Like A Separate, Newborn World, Yet Withal So Fine And Beautiful It Might Well Fire The Dullest Observer To Desperate Enthusiasm."

You've probably noticed that I have quite a few images of the Mount Adams, Gifford Pinchot area. Mount Adams is the most remote mountain in the Cascade Range. It is often overlooked in publications and calendars. That is one of the reasons I love the area so much. It's difficult to reach and has very little pressure from civilization. I feel that the hiking & camping experience hasn't changed much over the last fifty years, and it is one of the most beautiful places in Washington State.
